Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026

What we collect

When you use Rate My Aura, we collect: the photo, audio clip, or video file you upload; an optional nickname you choose to provide (we do not verify identity, and a nickname is not required); and your IP address, used only to apply a temporary rate limit and not stored long-term.

We do not currently require or collect accounts, passwords, or email addresses to use the core scoring feature.

How your upload is used

Your uploaded file is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate an automated "aura" score and explanation. It is then stored using our hosting providers (Supabase for storage/database, Render for the backend server) and displayed publicly on the leaderboard, along with your score, explanation, and nickname (if provided).

Everything you upload is intended to be shown publicly. Do not upload anything you would not want visible to anyone who visits the site, and do not upload identifiable photos, audio, or video of another person without their consent.

Automated content screening

Uploads are automatically screened by the same AI system that generates your score, and content that appears to violate our Terms of Service is rejected before it is stored or published. This is an automated check, not human moderation, and may not catch everything.

Retention and removal

Uploaded files and leaderboard entries are kept indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them. To request removal of your content, contact us at hello@auramaxxed.com.

Third parties

We use Google (Gemini API) to generate scores, Supabase for storage and database hosting, and Render for backend hosting. Each of these providers processes your data under their own privacy terms.

Children's privacy

Rate My Aura is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. An age gate is planned for a future version of this app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
